Fatal collision, Plymouth
Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Plymouth at the weekend are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a green Lexus saloon car on Embankment Road, at around 2.10am, on Saturday 7 January.
As a result of the collision the car driver, a 21-year-old man from Plymouth, sustained serious injuries. He later died in hospital. His next of kin have been informed.
Embankment Road out of the city was closed while officers from the Roads Policing Team carried out a forensic examination of the scene.
The road re-opened at around 1.45pm.
Police would like to thank the public for their patience.
Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and asking for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. They would particularly like to hear from anyone with dash cam footage of the vehicle prior to the collision.
