Family tribute following fatal road traffic collision near Newquay
The family of a 22-year-old who lost his life following a road traffic collision near Newquay have paid an emotional tribute to “a good-hearted kid” who “would help anyone”.
We were called at around 12.25am on Sunday 24 August following a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision that had occurred on the A3059 near to Newquay, which involved a white 110cc moped and a red single decker bus.
Tragically, as a result of the collision, moped rider Corey Searle, from Newquay, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 33-year-old driver of the bus from the St Austell area was uninjured.
Corey’s family has now paid tribute to him.
They said: “Corey Searle was our 22-year-old son, nephew, brother and best friend.
“He was funny and enthusiastic about anything and everything. He was a good-hearted kid, who was generous with his time and would help anyone.
“He loved to cook and had completed a chef apprenticeship. He would often be found cooking and baking at home. He also spent time locally fishing for mackerel and would come home laden with his catch ready for us to cook. Corey loved music, gaming and any motorsport, especially Formula 1.
“This summer Corey had been working for Dominos which he really enjoyed. He met many people through this.
“Corey is, and will continue to be, so missed by his family and everybody that knew him and loved him.”
