Update: Technical issue with 999 and 101 reporting system resolved
Devon & Cornwall Police experienced intermittent technical issues with the 999 and 101 incident reporting systems during the course of yesterday, Wednesday 15 March.
Our staff are trained for such matters and we immediately stood up our business continuity plans to ensure service to the public was maintained and calls for service dealt with.
Following technical investigations, the contingency plans were stood down at 6pm.
We would like to thank the public for bearing with us yesterday. We are investigating the root cause of the technical issues, in order to identify any measures that need to be put in place to avoid the same issue occurring again in the future.
