Appeal following serious collision, Redruth
Police investigating a collision in Redruth are appealing for witnesses and information.
Officers were called at around 9.50pm on Wednesday 25 March to a report of a collision on St Day Road, involving a white Seat car and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with seriously, potentially life-changing, injuries.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs and causing serious injury while driving without due care and attention. He remains in police custody this morning.
Cornwall air ambulance, SWAST and Specialist officers from the Devon and Cornwall’s Alliance Roads Policing Team attended along with a Forensic Collision Investigator.
A full investigation of the scene took place, and officers are working to establish the exact cause of this collision. We would like to thank the public for their patience while this took place.
