Fatal road traffic collision, Plympton

Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Plympton are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The collision involved a black Nissan car and a blue Suzuki motorbike and happened around 1.40pm on Saturday 13 December, on Boringdon Hill.

As a result of the collision, the rider of the motorbike, a 23-year-old local man was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The occupants of the car were not injured in the collision.

The road was closed while officers from the Roads Policing Unit and Forensic Collision Investigation Team examined the scene.

Officers would like to thank the public for their patience while the road was closed.

Devon and Cornwall Police has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct [IOPC], which is now conducting an investigation into the incident, due to prior police contact.
