Serious injury collision, Plymouth
We are investigating a serious road traffic collision in Plymouth and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers were called just before 2pm on Monday 31 August, to a report of a red Volvo in collision with a pedestrian on St Pancras Avenue, Plymouth, at the junction with Tintagel Crescent.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a 13-year-old boy, sustained life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital.
A man in his 40s from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving, driving while unfit through drugs and other offences. He has been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
Officers would like to thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene. The road was opened at 7.30pm.
