Serious road traffic collision, Torquay

Police are appealing for witnesses and any information following a serious road traffic collision at Newton Road, Torquay.

The collision took place at the junction with Shiphay Lane at 9.15am on Wednesday 28 August.

The collision involved a silver Citroen C3 and a mobility scooter. 

As a result of the collision a 79-year-old man was taken to Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital with injuries thought to be life-threatening.  

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed. 

Officers are appealing for any witnesses that have not already spoken to them, but who may have seen the collision, or have dash camera footage, to contact police via our website, or by calling 101, quoting log 213 of 28 August.
