Robbery, Barnstaple

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a robbery in Barnstaple.

The incident took place on the cycle path behind B&M, between Coney Avenue and Rose Lane, on Monday 8 April between 6.15pm and 8pm.

The incident is believed to have involved three individuals:

  • An adult white male, 6ft tall, wearing a black tracksuit top and black tracksuit trousers.
  • An adult white female with a blue jacket.
  • An adult white male, 6ft 4ins tall with a brown beard, a grey puffy coat, a green hoody, black jeans, a black Adidas bag and a Tesco carrier bag.

During the incident a man was assaulted and a sentimental toy, sweets and alcohol stolen from him. Two people have been arrested in relation to this incident and are currently on police bail.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, specifically two unknown men seen nearby watching, and encourage anyone with information to call 101, or get in touch via our website here, quoting reference number 50240083243.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen people matching the descriptions of the suspects in the area between those approximate times.
