Drugs warrant uncovers more than a hundred cannabis plants in Paignton
Police are continuing to crack down on drug dealing in communities and seized a total of 161 cannabis plants during an operation in Paignton earlier this week.
Officers executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Torquay Road on Tuesday 25 August.
Paignton & Brixham Sector Inspector Pete Giesens explained: “Whilst the recent heatwaves have left much of Paignton dry and yellow, our officers managed to locate a large patch of greenery during the execution of a Misuse of Drugs Act Warrant.
“Cannabis cultivation fuels wider criminal activity, exploiting vulnerable people and causing significant harm to individuals, families and communities. We will continue to take action against all of those involved.”
One local man aged 39 was arrested in relation to the drugs seized and has since been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
