Serious collision, A30 near Alphington junction

Police were called just after 11am on Sunday 21 January to a single vehicle collision on the A30 Eastbound just prior to the Alphington junction involving a grey Honda Civic.

Police, South West Ambulance Service and Devon Air Ambulance attended.

On police arrival, first aid was being administered by South West Ambulance Service and members of the public. 

As a result of the collision, the driver, a 62-year-old male from the local area is in a critical condition in hospital. 

Police would like to pass their thanks on to members of public who stopped to assist and administered immediate first aid. 

Police would also like to thank those members of public for their patience whilst caught in the tailbacks and diversions whilst this incident was under investigation. 

Police are especially keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or those who were in the area at the time of the collision that may have dashcam footage.
