Catch South Molton police ‘on tour’ this week
A series of public engagement events is being run by the South Molton neighbourhood policing team this week, offering residents a chance to speak face-to-face with officers about issues in their community.
The team will be taking the Community Engagement van to various locations in and around South Molton on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August.
Wednesday 26 August
- 9.30am – 11.00am - Willow Rise, Witheridge (near the play area)
- 11.30am – 1.00pm - South Molton Central Car Park, South Molton
- 2.00pm – 3.30pm - Football Club Car Park, Leigh Road, Chulmleigh
- 4.00pm – 5.00pm - Chittlehampton Village hall, East street, Chittlehampton
Thursday 27 August
- 11.00am – 12.30pm - The Square, North Molton
- 1.00pm – 2.00pm - Blackmore Gate Car Park, Blackmore Gate, Barnstaple
- 2.30 – 4.00pm - Lynton Town Hall, Lee Road, Lynton
Sergeant Robert Brown oversees policing teams in and around South Molton. He said “As the Neighbourhood Team Leader for the area, I will be visiting a number of villages across the sector to meet residents, listen to any concerns they may have, and provide updates on local policing activity and priorities.
“The visits will also provide an opportunity for residents to have their bicycles security marked for free, using our BikeRegister safety marking kits; helping to protect property and deter theft.
“As always, I’ll be raising awareness about ‘Community Messaging’ - our two-way communication platform that enables Devon & Cornwall Police to engage directly and meaningfully with local communities, share important information, and hear about the issues that matter most to people living in the force area.
“If you’re in the area, please come and speak to us. These valuable conversations play a vital part in keeping our communities safe, informed, and connected.”
The neighbourhood policing team will be joined by County Councillor Richard Hopley in both Witheridge and South Molton. Cllr Hopley will be on hand to discuss issues affecting local communities and work with residents and local councils to help identify solutions and address concerns.
