Devon & Cornwall Police’s Chief Constable's Foundation grants money to local charity

Devon & Cornwall Police’s Chief Constable's Foundation has given a grant of £6000 to Pete’s Dragons, a local charity which supports those who have been affected by suicide. Their work aligns with the Force mission to help the most vulnerable in our communities.

Pete’s Dragons provide highly skilled and experienced training and consultancy through workshops and courses in all aspects of suicide bereavement and wellbeing.

Lindsay Barry from Pete’s Dragons said: “Pete’s Dragons are so grateful for the Chief Constable’s Foundation for supporting us this year. This donation of £6000 will go a long way in helping us to continue providing our bespoke services to adults and children from all over Devon affected by suicide. Thank you to all the staff of Devon and Cornwall Police who have gone to such effort to help us.”

Devon & Cornwall Police Inspector Miranda Pusey said: “It is an absolute pleasure for me to lead a small team of volunteers who go above and beyond their normal policing roles to raise money by planning and delivering events throughout the year.

“We have had a successful 2023 being able to support a number of projects from across the Force area. Having Pete’s Dragons as our Charity of the Year for 2023 has enabled us to not only present them with the £6,000 but also raise awareness of their charity throughout our organisation and wider. It has been a pleasure working alongside them and having them attend our charity ball, as well as providing them clothes for their store in Exmouth.”
