Serious injury collision, Tiverton

We are investigating a serious road traffic collision near Tiverton on Monday 2 June and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called at around 1.30pm on Monday 2 June to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a red Peugeot Partner van on an unclassified road outside St Thomas Church, Chevithorne, Tiverton.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Volkswagen, a local man in his 40s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

Officers would like to thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene. 

The road was reopened soon after 6.30pm.
