APPEAL | Dog attack and assault, Plymouth

We are appealing for witnesses and relevant CCTV, dash-cam or other footage following a dog attack and an assault in the Millbay area of Plymouth.

Officers were alerted on the evening of Tuesday 3 June by a woman on Millbay Road stating that her chihuahua dog had been attacked by an out-of-control XL bully type dog some time prior to 8.30pm.

Following the attack, the chihuahua ran away and was then fatally struck by a blue Ford Fiesta which failed to stop.

It was also reported that the owner of the XL bully type dog assaulted the chihuahua’s owner before leaving the scene.

The woman suspected of carrying out the assault, who was with a male at the time, has not yet been identified.

CCTV enquiries in the area have already been carried out, and investigating officers are now appealing to any witnesses or persons with relevant footage which may help the investigation, to call 101 or visit our website quoting 50250140469
