Woman killed in collision, Plymouth

A woman in her 50s has died following a collision in Plymouth yesterday, Sunday 7 January.

Police were called at around 6.20pm to reports of a collision involving a Plymouth City Bus and a pedestrian on Western Approach.

The pedestrian was confirmed deceased at the scene. Enquiries remain ongoing to locate next of kin.

No other injuries were reported.

A 53-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless / inconsiderate driving. He has since been bailed.

Officers are seeking witnesses to the incident and would especially like to speak with passengers who were on the bus, and to the driver of a Ford Fiesta who may have witnessed the collision.

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.
