Child seriously hurt in bus collision, Shaldon
Officers are appealing for information and footage after a child was seriously injured in a collision involving a bus in Shaldon, Devon.
Emergency services were called at 6.45pm on Monday 27 July following reports that a double-decker bus had been in collision with a house in Torquay Road.
A five-year-old boy from Torquay, who was a passenger on the bus, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Another 14 passengers were assessed by ambulance crews at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
A man in his 60s from Torbay has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He remains in police custody while enquiries are ongoing.
Torquay Road was closed for approximately seven hours while roads policing officers conducted a forensic examination of the scene and the bus was recovered.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage.
