Police team invite the public to come along to their latest engagement events
Police across East Devon are enjoying a busy summer with plenty of community events and engagement with residents and visitors alike.
On Saturday 17 August between 2pm and 4pm officers from the Sidmouth Neighbourhood Team will be hosting a Crime Prevention Session at Newton Poppleford Village Hall in Station Rd and everyone is invited.
PC Tom Driver, from the Sidmouth Neighbourhood Police Team, said: “This is a great opportunity to meet your local officers, get valuable crime prevention tips and discuss any concerns you may have. We hope to see you there, let's work together to make your neighbourhood a safer place.”
Officers in Sidmouth and other parts of East Devon have been out and about at various events this summer such as the busy 70th anniversary week-long Sidmouth folk festival which finished on Friday 9 August, the Honiton Show on 1 August, as well as the Axe Vale Show and Seaton’s Summer Celebration back in June.
Members of the Sidmouth Neighbourhood Police Team will also be in the town chatting to visitors at the Sidmouth Regatta later this month and keeping everyone safe on the busy August Bank Holiday weekend. Police Community Support Officer Sarah Reece is available to chat to residents and take questions or give crime prevention advice at Sidmouth Library in Blackmore Drive on Wed 25 September from 10am to 12 noon. After this event she will visit the Oasis drop in café which is around the corner from the library. This session is for anyone who wants company, to talk to others and take part in crafts, games and enjoy the free refreshments on offer.
East Devon local officers will also attend the Seaton carnival on 7 September and Axminster Carnival on 21 September which both attract large crowds. Sidmouth Carnival is due to take place on 28 September and Honiton on 26 October. If you see the officers out and about please say hello and have a chat.
