Serious assault, Plymouth
Detectives investigating a report of serious assault on two police officers in Plymouth are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
We were called to reports of a disturbance within a property on Collin Close, Plymouth at around 7.50pm on Tuesday 22 September.
Police attended the scene and upon arrival, the officers were injured when a bottle smashed inside their marked police car.
Both officers were treated in hospital for cuts and were discharged later in the evening.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent, assaulting an emergency worker and obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty. He remains in police custody.
Members of the public can expect a heightened police presence in the area as enquiries are ongoing.
