Man charged with attempted murder following alleged incident in Plymouth

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged incident in Plymouth earlier this week.

Officers were called at around 12.55pm on Tuesday 6 October to a property in Durham Avenue, Plymouth.

One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sammy Lee Burton, 48, of New Street, Plymouth, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 8 October.

Two men in this 20s and 30s from Plymouth arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and an 18-year-old local woman arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, have all been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
