Serious injury collision, Exmouth
Police investigating a road traffic collision in Exmouth on Tuesday 23 August are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a silver Ford Transit panel van and a green motorcycle on Salterton Road, Exmouth at its junction with Dinan Way, at around 8.40pm.
As a result of the collision, the rider of the motorcycle sustained life changing injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
A full forensic investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the cause of this collision. The road was re-opened at around 3am.
A 26-year-old man from the Exmouth area was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was further arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care. He remains in custody at this time.
