Appeal after woman assaulted near Padstow

We are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was assaulted near Padstow.

Between 7.30pm and 9pm on Saturday 21 June, a woman was approached by a man wearing a red bucket hat in the area of Tregirls beach as she walked back in the direction of Padstow.

It was reported that she was approached and made to feel uncomfortable by the man’s behaviour before being grabbed.

The woman made her way safely to Broad Street in Padstow where the incident was then reported to police.

Searches and enquiries remain ongoing, but we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident or anything suspicious.

A 39-year-old man from London has since been arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released on bail until September while enquiries continue.

Information can be reported to police by 101 or via our website quoting reference 50250158261.
