CHARGES | Alleged assault, Penryn

Two men have been charged following an alleged assault in Penryn on Tuesday 15 July.

Officers attended following a report of a man and woman being found injured on Lower Market Street. 

Matthew Cunningham, 40, from Hilgrove Road in Newquay, has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, wounding with intent, and possessing a weapon in a public place.

Nikita Trembath, 32, from Permarin Road in Penryn, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas/electrical incapacitation.

Both were remanded and appeared at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 17 July.
