Appeal for witnesses after man sustained serious injuries in Plymouth
Officers investigating a report of an elderly man who sustained serious injuries after being jumped at by a dog in Plymouth, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The incident took place at around 9.15am on Saturday 1 August near The Sundial on Armada Way, Plymouth.
It was reported that the 79-year-old man had been walking in the area when he was jumped at by a large black dog which was not on a lead, causing him to fall and sustain a serious head injury.
His injury has been described as potentially life threatening and he remains in hospital.
Officers are asking for the dog owner to come forward and would also like to hear from anyone who helped at the scene who may have information to establish the circumstances of the incident.
