Sexual assault, Teignmouth

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect following a sexual assault in Teignmouth on the evening of Saturday 19 October.

The incident took place outside of Teignmouth Library at approximately 8:15pm.

The suspect approached the victim, grabbed her and sexually assaulted her before she fought him off.

He has approached from the direction of Parson Street, so has likely walked from the Bitton Park Road area.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 30s, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, with short dark hair and short facial hair. He was carrying a dark backpack and wearing a white puffer coat with dark trousers and white trainers.

Investigating officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who can help identify the suspect.
