Serious collision, Torquay

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision in Torquay that has resulted in a teenage boy being hospitalised.

At around 4am on Saturday 31 December, a collision occurred between a Herald 125 motorcycle and a Peugeot van at the junction of Riviera Way and Newton Road in Torquay.

As a result of the collision a 15-year-old who was believed to be riding the motorcycle was taken to Bristol Hospital with head and leg injuries. The teenager remains in hospital, but his injuries are no longer thought to be life-threatening,

Police attended the scene, and a full investigation was conducted. The road was shut for several hours, and officers would like to thank the public for their patience and support during this time.
