No second chance for anti-social motorcycle riders
Earlier this week (2 November) officers from the Efford Neighbourhood Policing Team in Plymouth seized a motorcycle that was being ridden in an anti-social manner in the Efford area.
Neighbourhood Beat Manager PC Danny Welch said: “Anti-social use of motorcycles causes significant nuisance and disruption to local residents, and we are committed to taking action against those who use vehicles in this way.
“The motorcycle was seized under powers granted by Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002. Anyone intent on causing alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public by using vehicles anti-socially are warned that Police no longer need to give a prior warning before seizing a vehicle.
PC Welch added: “We will continue to take a proactive approach to tackling anti-social vehicle use and keeping our local communities safe. Please report antisocial activity to us, as every report is useful in planning where to target our resources.”
