Witnesses sought to road rage assault, Plymouth

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to a road rage and assault in Plymouth.

The drivers of a car and a van were involved in a road rage incident in the city centre around 2.50pm on Thursday 20 July.

The incident led to a confrontation at the top of Western Approach near North Cross roundabout.

One man was assaulted by another man who was in possession of an axe.

The victim, a man in his 60s from Plymouth, sustained a minor cut to his hand which required medical treatment.

A man in his 50s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm, Section 18 GBH and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He has been released on bail until 12 October.

Officers are investigating and asking for any witnesses or anyone who may have captured the incident on dashcam to contact them.
