Pedestrian seriously injured, Torquay

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a collision in Torquay left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

Officers were called to Hele Road, at about 5.20pm on Monday 2 January to reports of a collision involving a Renault Clio, driven by a local man in his 20s, and a pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, outside the Conservative Club. 

The pedestrian had suffered significant, serious injuries and was taken to hospital in Torquay.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The road was closed for five hours while police investigated.
