APPEAL | Sexual assault, near Penryn

We are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault near Penryn.

Officers were notified following the incident which took place at the bus stop in Longdowns between 8am and 8.30am on Thursday 3 April.

It was reported a teenage girl was waiting at the bus stop when she was approached by a male suspect.

The suspect made lewd comments before sexually assaulting the victim.

The victim managed to escape, however the suspect is then said to have approached two other young people in the area, making inappropriate comments to one and putting his arm around her.

Officers investigating the incident are keen to hear from anyone in the area at the time who witnessed the incident.

A man in his 30s from the Penryn area has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and breach of a criminal behaviour order. He has been released on police bail.
