Staff at a Totnes equestrian centre have been given specialist crime prevention advice from local neighbourhood officers to help deter potential thieves and improve security.

Police Community Support Officers Alesha Richards and Jason Vasey, from Totnes Neighbourhood Team, visited Redpost Equestrian recently to deliver a crime prevention input to staff.

The session focussed on ways to prevent, reduce and deter retail theft and covered practical advice on recognising suspicious behaviour, identifying potential shoplifters, improving staff awareness, protecting stock and reporting incidents effectively.

PCSO Vasey said: “Working together with local businesses is an important part of keeping our community safe and supporting the people who work within it. We would like to say a big thank you to the team at Redpost Equestrian for their time and participation. Prevention is key and we want to make sure offenders don’t think they can get a free ride.”
