APPEAL | Assault, Barnstaple

We are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Barnstaple.

At around 10.30pm on Saturday 6 September a man in his 70s was walking along Queen Street outside the NHS centre when a verbal exchange with a young male took place.

During the exchange the victim was assaulted and suffered an injury to his finger.

The suspect – part of a group of teenagers – is described as being a white male aged 16-18, around 5ft 9ins tall, with dark short hair.

He was wearing a white t-shirt, a black waterproof top, black trousers and was holding a carton of juice.
