Man charged following reported sexual assault in Launceston
A man has been charged in connection to a reported sexual assault in Launceston.
Yordan Stanchev, 26, a Bulgarian national, of no fixed abode, Launceston, has been charged with sexual assault on a female.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Truro Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday 27 January.
Officers were called at around 9.20pm on Sunday 25 January following a report a 17-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by an unknown male in an alleyway by Launceston College.
Patrol units and the force helicopter were deployed.
There has been an increased police presence in the area since the report.
