UPDATE | Unexplained death in Chudleigh
Detectives investigating an unexplained death of a man in Chudleigh are appealing for dashcam footage to aid their enquiries.
Officers were called at 10.50am on 25 December to a rural property north of Chudleigh following concerns for a man.
Emergency services attended the scene where a fire was believed to have occurred – it had extinguished prior to arrival.
A man, aged in his 80s, was located in the property and was confirmed deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Detective Inspector Edward Vallins said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage from Marsh Lane, Chudleigh, between 8pm on Wednesday 24 December and 11am on Thursday 25 December.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and we are working with the fire service to establish the circumstances of this incident.
“There will continue to be a heightened police presence in the coming days as our enquiries are ongoing.”
