UPDATE: Barnstaple sexual assaults investigation
A 40-year-old man from Barnstaple has appeared in court accused of two attempted rapes.
Yesterday, Friday 6 January, detectives charged Nicholas Ashby, aged 40 from Sowden Park, with the attempt rape of a woman on 25th September 2022 at Bear Street, Barnstaple, and the attempt rape of a woman on 2nd October 2022 at Beaufort Walk, Barnstaple.
He appeared before Exeter Magistrates Court today, Saturday 7 January, and has been remanded in custody. He is due to attend Exeter Crown Court on 9th February.
