APPEAL | Assault, Barnstaple

We are appealing for witnesses and relevant footage following a serious assault in Barnstaple.

Officers were called to Queen Street at around 1.05am on Saturday 11 October following a report of a disturbance involving 12-14 young people.

On officers’ arrival, one victim – in his early 20s - was located sat outside Barum Takeaway.

He described being set upon by a group, assaulted and kicked to the head while on the floor.

He was taken to hospital and found to have suffered fractured ribs and a punctured lung.
