Controlling and coercive behaviour, Plymouth
Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of an incident involving controlling and coercive behaviour in Plymouth.
The incident took place at around 3.30pm on Sunday 15 September at Sainsbury’s at Marsh Mills.
It was reported that a man, around 5ft 8ins tall, of larger build with ginger hair and wearing grey jogging bottoms, was with a woman and two children.
During the incident the man took the woman’s phone telling her she’d never get it back, dragged her outside and assaulted her.
That same afternoon an altercation involving the man and woman also occurred in Derwent Avenue, during which a member of the public intervened.
A man in his 30s, from Plymouth, has been arrested on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour, assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been released on police bail.
