Fatal collision, South Molton
We are investigating a fatal road traffic collision near South Molton at the weekend and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
At around 4.55pm on Sunday 4 October, we were notified of a two-vehicle collision on the B3227 at Nadder Lane, near South Molton, involving a blue BMW S1000 motorbike and a green John Deere tractor.
Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle, a local man in his 20s, was declared deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the tractor was uninjured and remained at the scene to assist police with their enquiries.
Specialist and local officers attended the scene and conducted an initial investigation; the road was closed for several hours whilst the investigation took place.
It reopened around 7am on Monday 5 October.
