Rural thefts in the Liskeard area
Police have received reports of thefts from farm properties in the Liskeard area in the early hours.
The thefts occurred in the Pensilva and Quethiock areas between 2am and 6.30am today, 11 November.
It’s been reported that items including quadbikes, mountain bikes and tools had been taken from outbuildings after entry was forced.
Officers are appealing for the community to check and CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage for the times above and report any suspicious behaviour.
We would ask other similar properties in the area to consider the following prevention advice;
- check outbuildings regularly, consider reviewing security and the use of locks, security lighting/CCTV etc
- consider the use of clamps/locks and tracking systems on quad bikes
- immobilise vehicles and machinery in a lockable building or out of sight
- remove and secure keys away from vehicles
- secure gates and block unused entrances
- keep a record of serial numbers, photograph vehicles/equipment and note any unique features
