CCTV appeal after Torrington assault

Police have launched an investigation following a reported assault in Torrington on Sunday night [30 April].

The incident took place around 9.20pm when a member of the public witnessed a man being assaulted by at least two other men in New Street.

He and the assailants then left in a silver or grey vehicle, possibly an Audi, heading west on New Street and into Stonemans Lane.

The victim has yet to be identified and police are urging him to come forward.

Officers are also appealing for any witnesses to the incident or to anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area at the time.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with CCTV or doorbell camera footage covering New Street.
