Police are appealing for the publics help after the body of a man was found on a Newquay beach.
Emergency services were called at 7.30am today, 13 December, to Great Western beach, where the man was sadly confirmed deceased.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to identify him through initial enquiries and we’re now appealing for any information from the public which may assist us.
The man is described as a white male, likely aged in his 40s or 50s, with a long grey hair and a thick beard. He is wearing a grey Ellesse t-shirt, blue jeans, and brown boat shoes. It’s not believed that he had been in the water for very long.
Detective Constable Simon Murray said: “Very sadly we located the body of a man on the beach this morning and have so far not been able to identify him.
“We, of course, want to locate and inform his next of kin as soon as possible and so we’re urging anyone who might have information which could help us, to please get in touch.
“Anyone who recognises the description of the man is asked to report any possible names to us so that we can follow up with additional enquiries. Please do not post any names on social media but report them to us directly.”
