APPEAL | Fatal road traffic collision, East Cornwall

We are appealing for witnesses and footage following a road traffic collision near Looe on Friday 18 July.

We were called at around 9am following a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a black coloured Suzuki motorcycle and a blue coloured Peugeot 2008 on the A387 Polperro Road at the junction for Oaklands Holiday Park.

Despite the efforts of members of the public and emergency services, the motorcyclist - a man in his 30s from the St Austell area - died at the scene of the collision. His next of kin have been informed.

The road remained closed whilst a forensic collision investigation took place. Devon and Cornwall Police Roads Policing Unit would like to thank the public for their assistance at the scene and the public’s patience whilst road closures remained in place.

Anybody who witnessed the collision or has relevant dash-cam footage is asked to contact us on 101 or via our website quoting log 212 of 18 July.
