Appeal after motorcyclist seriously injured in Plymouth collision

We are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a pick-up truck in Plymouth.

Emergency services were called to Mannamead Road, near to the Esso garage, at around 12.40pm on Thursday 23 October.

The incident involved a black Ford Ranger and a black Kawasaki motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

A man aged in his 30s from the Plymouth area has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police, the fire service, paramedics and the air ambulance all attended the scene.

The road was closed while an investigation took place and reopened fully shortly before 4pm.
