Appeal following modified e-bike and child collision in Plymouth
Police are appealing for witnesses and footage following a road traffic collision involving a modified electric bike and a child in Plymouth.
Officers were called at around 4.40pm on Thursday 17 September following a report of a collision on Wolseley Road close to the junction of Saltash Road. The collision involved a 10-year-old pedestrian and a modified e-bike.
The child was taken by ambulance to Derriford Hospital. His injuries, although serious, have since been determined to be not life-threatening. The rider and pillion on the modified electric bike were also taken to Derriford Hospital with minor injuries.
A section of the road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene. Officers from the Roads Policing team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
A 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury while dangerous driving, and drug driving. He has been released under investigation.
