UPDATE: Serious assault in Exwick, Exeter
Detectives have been granted a further extension to continue questioning three people being held in connection to a serious assault which happened in Exwick on Sunday [8 October].
Police were called to reports of an altercation and serious assault in Kestor Drive, Exwick shortly after 11pm on Sunday.
An 18-year-old man from Exeter sustained multiple stab wounds and was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not being treated as life-threatening. He is currently in a stable condition.
Five people were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Two 15-year-old boys were released on conditional police bail until 5th December.
Officers received an extension to question a 37-year-old woman, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, who are all from Exeter. They have since been released on conditional bail until 5th December.
Detective Inspector Suzie Vranch said: “Officers remain in the area this morning with a scene guard still in place on Hexworthy Avenue, which we look to remove later today [Tuesday 10 October].
“I continue to urge anyone who has information that can help our investigation into this incident to please come forward. You can contact us directly or anonymously.
“We understand that an incident such as this would bring about much shock to the local community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of Exwick for their patience and to reassure them that we are doing all that we can to get to the bottom of what happened.”
