Appeal after man injured in bottle attack, Plymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Plymouth.

We were called to Basket Ope on Friday 31 July at around 1.20am following reports a man had been hit on the back of the head with a glass bottle and had sustained a head injury.

The victim, a local man in his 40s, was taken to Derriford Hospital, where he received treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening.

A scene guard was put in place while officers carried out an examination of the scene.

A 54-year-old local man has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault, or who may have any information that could assist the investigation, to make contact.
