Serious injury collision, Plymouth

We are investigating a serious road traffic collision in Plymouth on Wednesday and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Emergency services were called at around 7.40pm on Wednesday 13 August, following a two-vehicle collision involving a black and orange KTM RC-125 motorcycle and a red Citroen DS3 car on North Street, Plymouth.

The motorcycle then went on to collide with a pram on the pavement, which had a young child in it.

Police, the ambulance service and the air ambulance attended the scene.

The rider of the motorbike, an 18-year-old man, sustained potentially life changing injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

The child was assessed by paramedics at the scene but was uninjured.

The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries.

North Street was closed to allow officers to conduct a thorough investigation. It reopened at around 10.15pm.
