Appeal following fatal road traffic collision near Cornwall Airport Newquay

We are appealing for witnesses and relevant dash-cam footage following a fatal road traffic collision near Cornwall Airport Newquay.

At around 1.45pm on Monday 13 July we were called to the two-vehicle collision at Carnanton, close to the airport front.

The collision involved a Kia Picanto and a Peugeot 208.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Kia – a man in his 70s from Wadebridge - was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Kia passenger and the Peugeot driver – both adult females -  were taken to hospital.

Officers would like to thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene. 

We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision or anybody with relevant dash-cam to make contact via 101 or our website quoting reference number 50260183307.
